“Cuentas Claras”, the flagship 30-minute public affairs program hosted by Zamboanga City 2nd District Rep. Erbie A. Fabian turned one year old yesterday, July 17th.
The public affairs program, revived by Cong. Fabian has long since flourished presenting important issues for the day to cable, television and radio audiences in the city every Saturday of the week.

Presented and produced by EBAF Productions, “Cuentas Claras” is actually a re launched of the famous public affairs program which aired daily over defunct First United Broadcasting Corp. ( FUBC) TV 9 owned by then Congressowman Maria Clara Lobregat.

It used to air daily Mondays to Fridays over FUBC tackling pressing issues of the day in a lively, intelligent discussion with distinguished guests both here and from Manila.

The program gained popular support as it featured a segment where poor and destitute persons are extended assistance by Rep. Fabian in terms of cash assistance, medical assistance and referrals.

The segment gained tremendous following and gained logistical support from benefactors of the show.
Fabian, who had a long and successful stint working for the local media, decided to revive the program a year ago to replicate the success of the show and continue its public service features.

It broke into the television and radio airlines July 17, 2010 with a nostalgic walk through in time with its pilot episode featuring colleagues Edgar Baños and Councilor Rey Candido, co-hosts themselves of the popular program at FUBC.

Since then it has brought back the program with a list of distinguished guests such as Sen. Teofisto ‘TG’ Guingona III, now Navy Chief Rear Admiral Alex Pama, City Mayor Celso Lobregat, Congress colleagues Reps. Rufus Rodriguez of Cagayan de Oro, Teddy Harresco of Kasangga Party List, Balikbayan musicians Junie Saavedra and Sonny Miguel, former world boxing champion Gerry Penalosa, Jesuit Frs. Tony Moreno, Salvador Wee and Willy Samson, Beauty quest guru Cory Quirino and former newscaster Cathy Veloso Santillan plus a host of both national and local personalities in various fields of interests.

Now presented in a segmentalized format, its famous feature of extending humanitarian assistance to the people now aptly titled, “Amor con Amor s Paga” has been revived with a host of grateful beneficiaries ranging from prosthesis limbs recipients, wheelchair recipients, scholarships and livelihood trainings recipients, the program has since extended its range of topics discussed weekly.

It also features the groundbreaking actual coverage of congressional proceedings never before shown on local television.
The segment schools local viewers on how congress go about its work in legislating much needed laws to help in the country’s progress and development.
The program made its primary broadcast by way of Sky cable, GBPI Channel 11, radio station RMN.

Since then Cuentas Claras added new media partners in the mix such as MCTV channel 18, RPN Solar TV 5, Vitali Community Cable TV, and radio stations UMBN KZ-FM , and DXMR Radyo ng Bayan.

Backed by a highly professional production team “Cuentas Claras” is produced by EBAF Productions headed by Manager Edgar Banos and Operations Chief Bhong Simbajon.

Its technical and support complements are composed of technical supervisor James Alameda, senior video editor and cameraman Nonoy Zapanta and lensman Jojo San Antonio.

Raisa Mae Fernandez, the show’s associate editor and Leslie Ann Villanueva, the complement’s chief admin staff complete the group.
In a brief statement, Rep. Fabian said the program is back to serve the people of Zamboanga in the best manner it could, through quality and incisive shows.
