Re-elected Councilor Juan Climaco “Kim” P. Elago thanked the people of Zamboanga City for giving him a new mandate and opportunity to serve the city.

Elago grateful to those who supported him and made him  a winner in the May 9 elections.

The second term councilor likewise thanked re-elected Mayor Beng Climaco for supporting the local UNA Party in the city.

“I would like also to thank Mayor Beng Climaco for her trust and confidence in me and  accepting me into her team,” Elago said.

Elago was elected as a City Councilor in 2001 under the LDP Party landing in the No. 12 slot. In 2007, he was reelected in the No. 4 slot, No. 9 in 2007, and No. 5 in 2013. In the recently held election, he is No. 1.

Elago’s priorities in the City Council is to pass author an ordinance on “Land Banking Program and Budget” for the city government to acquire lands for future projects and development.

Elago explained that the Land Banking program is good for future generation projects like construction of schools, terminals. barangay halls, expansion of development for government offices and other infrastructure projects for the common good.

Another priority for Elago  is for the city to acquire a land for cemeteries in the West, East, South and North. It is free for all the residents of the city and all religions and no segregation of ethnic identities.

Elago cited a Land Banking example:  The Culianan Barangay Hall area with Police Station, Office City Agriculture and other local offices acquired during the 80s. Also the Ayal National High School and Vocational School was acquired in 1981. Elago cited more like the revival of Bantay Dagat, Identification System and contruction of Community Police Assistance  Center building in the different coastal areas and boundaries of the city. — Allen Abastillas
