Mayor Beng Climaco Wednesday morning spearheaded the turnover of a newly-refurbished barangay hall to residents of Divisoria led by Chairperson Jesus Macrohon in fitting rites.

Costing P2.284 million, the rehabilitated barangay hall was constructed by a private contractor under the supervision of the City Engineer’s Office in a period of 10 months (March 9, 2015 to Jan. 8, 2016).

Mayor Climaco said supporting the needs of the barangays will one way to improve delivery of public service as it will redound to the benefit of the residents at the grassroot level.

As frontliners in public service, the barangay councils should be equipped and capable to attend to the needs of their constituents, she stressed.

Accompanying the mayor during the turnover ceremony were some re-elected and newly-elected councilors, City Engineer Luis Despalo, CEO staff and representatives from the construction firm.

On behalf of his constituents, Macrohon thanked the City government for the project as he promised to maximize the use of the facility and to use all means possible to further enhance services to the public. — Sheila Covarrubias
