Woman hacked dead by son-in-law PDF Print E-mail

A woman was hacked to death by her son-in-law in Burigsay, Malagutay last Wednesday night.

Chief Insp. Hingming Chang Ladjaali, Sinunuc Police Station commander, identified the fatality as Perlita Mariano, 58, married.  She sustained a hack wound in the head and died on the spot.

Ladjaali identified the killer as Roberto Bernardo Rivero, 34, married.

Initial investigation showed that Mariano reprimanded Rivero because of his drunken behavior. Rivero resented and grabbed a bolo which he hacked her mother-in-law.

Police said the victim died right after she fell on the ground.

The suspect escaped after the incident.

Ladjaali said his office has readied charges against Rivero  while hot pursuit operation was still on going. – Dan Toribio
