Mayor Beng Climaco on Monday expressed full support to the incoming administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leny Robredo or RoRo, as she called on all sectors in the city to remain united in the spirit of recovery and reconstruction.

Mayor Climaco said Zamboangueños will have to stay strong and steadfast in order to realize the vision of building back a better Zamboanga with the new administration of President Duterte and Vice   President Robredo and the newly-elected set of local officials who will be sworn into office by noon of June 30.

Given a huge mandate anew, Mayor Climaco said she will do her utmost best to be able to carry out all the plans and programs her administration has set out to do in tandem with the Duterte-Robredo administration.

Meanwhile, the chief executive said she will remain with the Liberal Party as her membership with the LP is because of her belief, principle and commitment as well as because of family ties family legacy. Her father, the late Jose “Jolly” Climaco who is her inspiration as a public servant and her uncle, the late Mayor Cesar C. Climaco were both LP members, she pointed out.

“When I became a member of the LP, it was not because of personality. We supported the partnership of Mar-Leni team given that the results were not very favourable but it is something that you believe as a consequence of conviction. We believe in democracy and liberalism,” Mayor Climaco added. (Sheila Covarrubias)
