City Hall earmarks P40-M for road widening projects Print

In a bid to ease the flow of vehicular traffic, the city government has earmarked the total amount of P40, 843,564.90 for widening of roads within the city proper.

City Disaster Risk Reduction Management head and officer-in-charge of the City Administrator’s Office Dr. Elmeir Apolinario announced at Monday’s press briefing that the road crossing Sta. Cruz (Commercial Complex) will be expanded, costing P10,150,506.00.

The project will include concreting of the 3,347-sq.m. road in the amount of P7,437,034.00, sidewalk (579.16 sq.m) of P694,992.00 and a 252.31-sq.m fence at P2,018,480.00.

Another road widening is at the Lunzuran intersection amounting to P5,239,969.90, which includes a slope protection worth P3,820,000.00 and embankment at P690,709.50.

Also set for widening is the road at Gov. Camins Ave. worth P25,453,089.00, of which P5.4 million is budgeted for concreting, P782,665.00 for drainage system, P930,960.00 for fence and P18.4 million for construction of a bridge.

Dr. Apolinario said these road widening projects hopes to lessen traffic jams in downtown areas.— Vic Larato
