Mayor Beng Climaco has express his thanks and gratitude to outgoing police regional director Chief Supt. Miguel Antonio for exemplary service rendered in Zamboanga City and the whole of Region 9.

Climaco conveyed her appreciation during a testimonial dinner the city government had tendered for C/Supt. Antonio.

During the event, the chief executive presented two plaques of appreciation to Supt. Antonio: one from the city government and the other from the City Peace and Order Council (CPO).

In his response speech, Antonio likewise thanked and commended the city government under Mayor Climaco for all its support to the local police force.

He specifically cited that the city’s support to the local PNP is the biggest in any administration, amounting to more than P500 million.

Since Climaco assume office under her first term from 2013 to 2015, the city allocation for the police had reached a whooping amount of P595.316 million, the highest ever invested by any administration.

The city turned over 50 units of motorcycles, provided additional firearms and ammunitions, the ongoing construction of a new building of the Zamboanga City Police Office amounting to P29.9 million at the back of City Hall.— Vic Larato
