City gov’t sets Independence Day ceremony PDF Print E-mail

The City Government will be joining the nationwide commemoration of the country’s 118th Independence anniversary on Sunday, June 12.

Mayor Beng Climaco will lead the morning ceremonies which will be held at Plaza Rizal at 8 AM. The Independence Day program will kick off with a wreath laying ceremony, followed by the hoisting of the flag, and the Independence Day message of the chief executive.

Expected to attend the simple commemorative rites are the different local and national government agencies, civil society groups, the academe, the security forces, and non-government organizations.

This year’s Independence Day will have the theme “Pagkakaisa, Pag-aambangan, Pagsulong”.

Also set for June are the following City Government activities: the 155th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal on June 19, the Dia de Fundacion de Chavacano on June 23, the CineChavacano Festival de Pelicula y Animacion, and the Arbor Day na Zamboanga on June 25. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
