Seminar set today on laws on construction industry PDF Print E-mail

The Los Contratistas dela Ciudad de Zamboanga Inc. and the National Constructors Association of the Philippines or NACAP in coordination with two policy making bodies will conduct starting today a two-day AMO orientation seminar at Grand Astoria Hotel to acquaint employers on laws and regulations covering the construction industry.

Georgina L. Ramos, contratistas’ incumbent president, disclosed that top brass of the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board or PCAB and the Construction Management Development Foundation (CMDF-DTI) will be on hand to lend their expertise during the activity.

Ramos said proprietors and managing officers of construction firms in Region IX and neighboring areas have been invited to the seminar which is now a requirement in the approval and release of all PCAB license either renewal or new application for registration this year.

Likewise Raymond C. Go,  NACAP VP- Mindanao and Regional Director, revealed that the AMO crash course covers laws and regulations regarding National Building Code and the Labor Code, Government Procurement Reform Act, Internal Revenue Code, The Build-Operate Transfer Law and othery’local government Code, affecting the industry.

The lady president reminded participants that the 16-hour attendance will be observed strictly and registration will be on a “first come first serve basis” due to limited slots.    Registration fee is P5,000 to cover cost of materials, food and other expenses

Payment in check should be made payable to Los Contratistas dela Ciudad de Zamboanga and to be deposited to BDO Zamboanga Branch Account No. 001790218088.

Participants are requested to submit one (1) 1x1 photo for PCAB ID and for placement on file, Ramos added.
