Lobregat asks Zamcelco to energize all ZC sitios PDF Print E-mail

District 1 Congressman Celso Lobregat has urged Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco) to act with sense of urgency in the implementation of the Sitio Electrification Program that is subsidized by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

Lobregat met with Zamcelco officials Thursday to obtain the latest accomplishment reports with regard to the completed, ongoing and evaluated projects for bidding and implementation all over Zamboanga City.

The solon revealed that these projects are very vital because they will energize all nooks of Zamboanga  and all folks would enjoy the benefits of having electricity.

This “Missionary Electrification Program” has enabled an equal opportunity for far-flung barangays to have an energized community without considering greater profit for the local electric cooperative.

NEA allocated P25.379-million for the electrification of 15 sitios.

Fourteen more sitios have already been energized by Zamcelco thru this program. They are Azcuna-Mercedes, Bacud-Sibulao, Cabonegro-Limpapa, Fairview-La Paz, Garnier-La Paz, Peralta-Mampang, Eligua-Dulian,Camp Socorro-Bungiao, Km15-Bunguiao, Marangan-Limaong, Masalag-Limpapa,Purok 7-Limpapa, Nangka-Bungiao and Sapa Seco-Bungiao.There is also an ongoing electrification project in Sitio Lacumba in Limpapa.

There will be five sitios in Limaong to be energized under this program. Scheduled for bidding are Sitio Malanta at P2.194 million, Matiti Diutay at P2.496 million, Matiti Grande at P 2.98 -million, Look at P1.933million, and Siboctoc at P3.413- million respectively. The total subsidy of NEA for these projects amount to P13,021 million.

Lobregat said that prior to his initiatives to include sitios in District 2 and as well as District 1, he has coordinated with District 2 Congresswoman Lilia Nuño for him to be able to make the necessary follow-up at NEA for the implementation of this program in both districts.

Nuño has been appreciative of Lobregat’s effort in pushing for the sitio electrification in District 2.

Rep. Lobregat said that he is in constant communication with Zamcelco officials as well as making the necessary follow-ups at the NEA, NAPOCOR and DOE to ensure the implementation of this program in Zamboanga city.

In the meeting OIC-GM Ed Ancheta announced that the energization of Great Sta. Cruz island is undergoing the bidding process. The amount under the Barangay Line Enhancement Program is P1.936 million. He also acknowledged Lobregat’s effort in the energization of Sta. Cruz island.

The veteran lawmaker said that he will continue to seek subsidy funds from NEA for the energization of the remaining unenergized sitios. – Dexter Yap
