The AHS-Agri – Aqua Venture,  producer of high quality cacao seedlings with its Cacao nursery in NJB Farm in Barangay Ayala, is now expanding its production for cacao farmers after more than two  years of operation in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The agriculture business started in July 2014.The high value cacao tree seedlings technology is provided by cacao guru Peter Cruz of Kennemer Foods International based in Davao City. Kennemer is a Cacao beans producer supplying Mars USA, the biggest chocolate producer in the world.

AHS Agri – Aqua Venture owner Angelo H. Sunglao thanked the people who bought  the high value cacao trees.

Sunglao supplied 2,000,000 cacao trees in Zamboanga City, to the Lamitan City local government unit and many people in the region who acquired cacao trees in his nursery.

Sunglao was elected by the Department of Trade and Industry 9  and the cacao farmers in Zamboanga Peninsula last year in SM Davao City  as chairman of the Cacao Cluster Group in the Region during a Cacao Congress.

“ Cacao agri-business is really excellent because it has market in local and the world market. In fact it was projected in the world market that there will be a shortage of cacao beans of 1,000,000 metric tons by 2020. To cover the shortage,  Kennemer supplied 40,000,000 cacao trees in Zamboanga del Norte for its expansion. Most of the cacao beans in the world market is from West Africa. Only little is produced from the Philippines”, Sunglao said.

Th cacao farmer expressed gratitude to President-elect Rodrigo R. Duterte for giving support and focus to the cacao industry and in agriculture in the country as a whole.       Davao City and the whole of Region 11 supply high value cacao beans to the world market. — Allen Abastillas
