Lamitan City Police Chief Sr. Insp. Gean Gallardo said last week the city is 95 per cent free from drug pushers.

According to Gallardo,  there are some few pushers who are still plying their illegal trade , but they are outsiders.

“ Regular po yong dialogue ko sa mga barangay officials na magtulungan po kami na labanan at hulihin ang mga pushers. As a result of our regular dialogue. They are helping the police eradicate drugs. We also  combed suspected barangays if there are  drug pushers in the area. Our fight against drug pushers started since I assumed command,” Gallardo said.

He thanked the people and the local leaders for helping the police.

Meanwhile, Gallardo will start organizing a task force to provide security to people who want to tour Lamitan.

“I am doing this because the city is moving forward to progress and development under the leadership of Mayor Rose Furigay and Vice Mayor Roderick H. Furigay.    Investors are also coming in the city like Jolibee and Land Bank of the Philippines.  We have a security plan. We also coordinate with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other units of the Philippine National Police,” Gallardo said. — Allen Abastillas
