BoC earns P8.7M from auction of seized rice, sugar PDF Print E-mail

The Bureau of Customs Zamboanga City District Office auctioned off recently imported rice and sugar seized in separate occasion in the past months.

The proceeds of the imported goods reached P8,737,738.

Customs Finance Officer Luz Alih disclosed that the auction was initiated by District Collector Benhur P. Arabani last June 15, 2016.

Alih said that the seized rice and sugar have no legal documents and importation paper when they were shipped to Zamboanga City.

Arabani had requested for auction proceedings from the BoC central office for the imported goods.

Meanwhile, the BoC Zamboanga City District Office earned P17,648,607 in revenue collection for the months of May and April, mostly of from the canning industry, Price Gas, National Food Authority imported rice and other importers. — Allen Abastillas
