A security guard was stabbed to death by a thief along JS Alano St. last Wednesday afternoon.

Killed was Joejohn Balawag, 38, married. He sustained three stab wounds in the chest and died while being taken to the hospital.

The suspect was identified on as a certain Lery, who escaped after the incident.

It was gathered that Balawag was walking along JS Alano St. and was about to ride a passenger jeepney  bound for the west coast when Lery appeared and stabbed him three times in the chest shortly before 6 p.m.

It was learned that several months ago when Balawag was detailed at a pharmacy-convenient store, Lery stole some items and was collared by the former.

The store management filed a theft case against Lery. He was sent to City Jail but was later released.

Lery reportedly threatened to kill Balawag when  he would come out of jail.

Balawag who was already detailed in another establishment along Pilar St., was met by Lery carried out his threat.
