“Even if I am now a private citizen, it does not stop me from doing humanitarian acts.”

Thus said former congressman Erbie Fabian who distributed Friday two truckloads of grocery items, used clothing, rice and sardines to hundreds of fire victims sheltered at the Don Gregorio Evangelista Memorial School’s multipurpose hall  in arangay Sta. Catalina.

Fabian coordinated with the barangay leaders headed by Chairman and Councilor-elect Jimmy Villaflores for the distribution of the various relief items to the fire victims.

The former solon is happy to see the multi-purpose hall which helped built  is now of great service to the fire victims.

Fabian, when he was the congressman of District 2 appropriated P3 million for the implementation of the covered court project.

“Alegre yo ayuda con el diaton maga victima del kema maskin hende mas yo un official del pueblo,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Sta. Catalina kagawad Jordan Evangelista said his family was willing to share the vacant lot at Martha Drive for the temporary relocation of the victims.

Evangelista said the throng of fire victims are now disturbing the students and teachers in their classes the reason why they should be moved out of the campus.

”Yan meeting ya man el Crisis Committee y amo ese el diamon suggestion for the victims to be transferred to the lot our family is offering temporarily as relocation site,” Evangelista  said.

He said personnel from the City Engineer’s Office have already inspected the site for the immediate transfer of the evacuees. — Nonong Santiago
