Bomb plot on Ipil provincial capitol foiled PDF Print E-mail

Authorities in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay recovered an improvised explosive device inside the Provincial Capitol Thursday afternoon.

A police report disclosed that security personnel of the capitol reported the incident to the police for the retrieval of the explosive.

Policemen and the Explosive and Ordnance Division with a K9 sniffing dog rushed to the place and safely retrieved the IED at the ground floor of the building.

Police said the explosive was made of ammonium nitrate and fuel oil filled in a 180 ml glass vial with improvised non-electric blasting cap attached to a time fuse (commercial type) about 3 inch-long.

The IED was brought to the EDO/K9 office for proper custody.

Policemen in Ipil were still trying to determine who planted the explosive inside the building. – Dan Toribio
