A Chinese national was arrested Sunday in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte after alleged sexual harassment committed on a teenage Filipina worker

Supt. Roger Alabata, police regional information officer, identified the foreigner as Yanhuang Zhang Xie alias Jomung, 23, from China and temporarily residing in Disud, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

A police report disclosed that Beverly Cabrera Tigmo, 43, married, of Tigbao, Sindangan, reported to the police that around 10:30 a.m., Sunday, her 17-year-old niece was sexually harassed by Xie, her employer.

Investigation showed that the girl had just started performing her work at Xie’s  store on that day in barangay Poblacion, Sindangan. Around 10 a.m. Xie instructed the girl to go with him aboard a motorcycle. They proceeded to his rented room, wherre he told the girl to clean the place.

After finishing her task, Xie grabbed her and mashed her breasts and buttocks.

The girl reported the harassment to her aunt who accompanied her to the police station to file a complaint.

Policemen conducted a hot pursuit operation in which they figured in a chase with the suspect before his arrest on the same day.

Xie was detained at the Sindangan Police Station pending the filing of charges in court. – Dan Toribio
