A total of 107 police personnel and officers including the City Director underwent a surprise compulsory  drug test Wednesday at Camp Batalla and one of them was found positive of methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as shabu in his urine sample.

The policeman, whose identity has been withheld, was immediately placed under summary prceedings.

The result came out few hours after the actual drug test.

Under the PNP rules and regulations, any policeman found positive of drug use in testing  will be subject to dismissal from the service followig due process.

The unannounced drug test was conducted during a seminar conducted by the Police Regional Office led by Deputy Regional Director for Operation Sr. Supt. Devold Sinas at the function hall in Camp Batalla.

During the activity, Sinas lectured his subordinates on how to face and handle drug cases as it was a part of the anti-drug campaign.

During of the seminar, Sinas surprised the 107 policemen mostly from the SAIDSOTG by announcing that they will undergo drug test right there and then. – Dan Toribio
