Congressman Celso Lobregat will attend today’s oath-taking and inaugural rites of all elected officials set at 8 a.m. at the city hall lobby.

Lobregat confirmed that all “Team Colorao” councilors who made it during the May 9 elections will be present joining other newly-elected and re-elected  officials.

The solon made the announcement amid speculations that his team will conduct separate inaugurals at a local hotel and will not honor the invitations of the city mayor who will spearhead the important event.

“Me and my team who were elected last May elections will be attending the ceremony, to show to the people of Zamboanga that we are honorable and are ready to continue our public service to our people,” Lobregat stressed.

He said that election is over and it’s time to buckle down to work and look into the welfare of the constituents, especially this time, wherein disasters — natural or man-made—  are posing threats to the city.

“It’s time to do what is best for our city, no if’s and but’s. We have to perform according to our mandate,” Lobregat said.

The congressman also revealed that he will also be administering the oath of office of four elected councilors under his political party. They are re-elected councilors Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar- District 1 and Mike Alavar-District 2, also with incoming councilors Boday Cabato of District 1 and Lilibeth Nuño of District 2.

Lobregat said he will remain steadfast in his commitment to the people of Zamboanga to carry on with his worthy representation in the halls of congress as their re-elected congressman in District 1.

Lobregat remains hopeful in working together with the new compositon of the set of city officials who will serve up to 2019. – Dexter Yap
