2 drug suspects slain in shootout with police PDF Print E-mail

Two alleged members of a drug ring were killed while two others were arrested during a buy-bust operation Barangay Dita yesterday morning.

Men of the Curuan Police Station led by Chief Insp. Ramon Bautista with  a SWAT team led by Sr. Insp. Julius Dao-an under the supervision of Supt. Ariston Limos, mounted a buy-bust operation around 8:30 a.m. targeting Arsi Jumaari and Junie Hairin.

The targets and their cohorts sensed it was a police operation and fired at the lawmen triggering a shootout.

Police said that during the exchange of gunfire, Jumaari and Hairin managed to escaped, while two of their cohorts identified as Mark Elgin Tarroza Gregorio of Mangga Bolong and Peter Galvon were shot dead.

Police also arsetedMerham Abdul and Julmi Evangelista.

Lawmen recovered from the suspects a .45 caliber pistol, a fragmentation grenade, shabu and paraphernalia.

Police had earlier conducted surveillance on the drug activities of the suspects before the buy-bust was carried out.

The Curuan police station has readied charges against those arrested and the two at large suspects. – Dan Toribio
