Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Billy B. Beltran on Tuesday warned police officers to stay away from drugs and other illegal activities that will malign the name of the Philippine National Police.

Beltran’s warning was issued during a command conference with policeprovincial directors and chiefs of major command units, national support units and the Philippine Army.

PRO-9 spokeperson Supt. Roger Alabata disclosed that Beltranhas ordered all officers in the region must do their job well, make their command stations clean and  neat, clear the streets of drinking sessions  that openly show to the public and vandalism.

Beltran wants to see policemen  in the region to implement curfew for children and to inform the parents not to allow minors to roam the streets at night time.

Beltran also warned policemen who are drug users or pushers to surrender immediately to their commander so that it will not jeorpardize their future and do not wait for the command to discover that they are into drugs else  they will  face grave consequences.

Alabata also said that commanders have also been directed to fast track their delivery of services to people with a quality time management.

During the command conference, officers also submitted themselves to a surprise drug test. Soldiers of the Philippine Army under the Task Force Zamboanga and 103rd Brigade followed suits. — Allen Abastillas
