Sulu governor backs DOJ-PPA 35th anniversary celebration PDF Print E-mail

The Sulu Parole and Probation Office, a line agency of Department of Justice, joined the nationwide anniversary celebration of the agency from July 18-24, 2011. This year’s theme, “Matuwid na Landas: Susi sa Pagbabago at Kaunlaran” characterizes the agency’s commitment to effect positive change in the lives of the clients which comprises of probationers, parolees and pardonees who most of them belong to the grassroots level of society.

In consonance to this, Governor Abdusakur M. Tan of Sulu who is known for his generosity and compassion to less fortunate members of community supported the weeklong activities by providing meals and snacks to all individuals who were part of celebration.

Governor Tan emphasized that his office will continue to support all programs of DOJ-PPA that focus on client’s development and welfare, for it is the most humane expression for them to feel that despite of being once in conflict with the law, they are still very important segment of society.

The Sulu Parole and Probation Office headed by Supervising Probation and Parole Officer Nicasio D. Dujali conducted various rehabilitation activities like Tree Planting, cleanliness and beautification drive, Jail visit, get together lunch and other related activities geared for clients’ reformation. This noble endeavor is in line with the agency’s goal which is to promote the correction and rehabilitation of an offender by providing them with personalized community-based treatment and to provide them an opportunity for their reformation and re-integration into mainstream society.
