In celebration of Nutrition month, the City Health Office in partnership with the Regional and City Nutrition Committees has lined up a series of activities to be held on Tuesday, July 12 at the City Mall in Tetuan.

The event will kick off with a motorcade from town to Tetuan where a Thematic Symposium on the first 1,000 days will be held with some 100 pregnant women and mothers with children below 6 years old attending.

Themed “First 1,000 days ni Baby Pahalagahan para sa Malusog na Kinabukasan, the Nutrition month celebration highlights the first 1,000 days of life starting from the first day of conception until the second birthday of the child –globally considered as the golden window of opportunity for interventions that aim to achieve maximum potential of a child’s growth and development.

Mayor Beng Climaco is expected to grace the event that will also be attended by the different member agencies of the Regional and city Nutrition Committees and other concerned agencies.

The campaign aims to increase awareness on the importance of proper nutrition and early childhood care and development during the first 1,000 days of life.
