PNP Maritime seizes 2 unregistered fishing boats in Isabela City PDF Print E-mail

Two unregistered fishing boats were seized recently by operatives of  the 905th Maritime Police Station in Isabela City, Basilan province.

SPO4 Babilito M. Troyo, chief, Police Maritime in Isabela City, disclosed that an informant  told him that two unregistered pumpboats have been illegally fishing off Barangay Marang-Marang in Isabela City using a fine mesh net which  prohibited under City Ordinance No. 03-148.

Troyo said that fine mesh net is not allowed to use in fishing because it will endanger many varieties of fingerling and other small fishes.

Troyo, in his report,  to Supt. Salbino C. Piad, said the unmarked two pumpboats are unregistered in the city.

The total estimated value of the two pumpboats with Honda engine and nets is P45,900. It is now impounded at the Maritime Station. A case criminal case is has been readied for filing with the City Prosecutor’s Office. — Allen Abastillas
