Portions of Tetuan will be declared one way street from 1-5pm Saturday, July 16 to give way for the conduct of a symposium entitled “Federalism: the Landscape of Philippine Politics” at the Summit Center, Universidad de Zamboanga.

The declaration is contained in Executive Order BC 196-2016 designating a section of Don Toribio St. as a one way street from west to east, from the junction/intersection with Dr. J.R. Estrada Street up to the junction/intersection with Crispin Atilano St. (formerly J.D. Cruz) in Tetuan from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, July 16 in relation to the conduct of the symposium on Federalism. This is to ensure smooth flow of traffic on streets leading to the venue.

The executive order is based on a request from the Research Center of the Universidad de Zamboanga and consequently recommended by the Office of the City Administrator.

Participants to the symposium are expected to come from the different sectors of the city that could result to traffic congestion, thus, the executive order. — Sheila Covarrubias
