Zamboanga City is a recipient of a fully-furnished mobile van from the Department of Health (DOH) in support of the city’s priority thrust on health through Mayor Beng Climaco’s Security, Health and Education (SHE) program.

The van, secured through the assistance of former Health Secretary Janette Garin and current Sec. Paulyn Ubial was ceremonially turned over to Mayor Climaco and the City Health Office led by Dr. Rodel Agbulos Monday morning during the flag raising ceremony.

The van will be utilized in the conduct of Dia del Alcalde and other medical outreach missions in far flung barangays. The van can accommodate 50 or more patients and can be used even in areas without power supply as its battery has a life span of 7 hours.

Mayor Climaco thanked former Sec. Garin for her assistance to Zamboanga City during her term as health secretary such as the mobile dental van as well as the interventions at the height of the acute gastroenteritis outbreak last April.

She likewise lauded the CHO through Dr. Agbulos for innovating ways on how to best improve health services in the city.
