The City Health Office (CHO) has warned the youth on the ill effects of teenage pregnancy.

“These teenage pregnancies, they have the most cases of abortion,” Dr. Rodelin Agbulos, city health officer said in an interview.

Agbulos who is also an OB Gyne physician said those teenage pregnancies have the risk of eclampsia and preeclampsia, and malnutrition as these teenagers usually hide their pregnancy and will not take any medication.

The city health officer said that responsible parenthood should really come in for these teens and they should really be guided.

Agbulos said the problem of increasing teenage pregnancy is not only being experienced in this city and much affected by this problem are the bigger cities.

When it comes to family planning, Agbulos said, “we cannot just provide them left and right family planning methods although they are supposed to know and learn about these things,” referring to the teens.

He said that whenever they do family planning, “there should always be consent and we don’t just give any methods left and right,” (R.G. A A. Go)
