Police bare results of drive against traffic violations PDF Print E-mail

The City Police Office under Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo has submitted to Mayor Celso Lobregat an accomplishment report on the campaign against traffic violations

In his report, De Ocampo revealed that a total of 58 violators were apprehended for for “no headlight” covering the period of January to July 21, 2011.
The campaign was carried out on orders of Lobregat to run after motor vehicles with no headlight traveling especially at night time.

De Ocampo has immediately instructed the traffic police led by Sr. Insp. Cesar Memoracion to implement City Ordinance No. 248 and Republic Act NO. 4136, otherwise known as the national traffic law.

The accomplishment report disclosed that two tricycle drivers were apprehended for over charging their passengers.

A total of 1,162 were intercepted for loading passengers on prohibited zones.

Seventy motorcycles that have modified muffler and creating thunderous and annoying sound.
A total of 1, 557 motorcycle drivers were apprehended for  not wearing crash helmet.

Forty five motorcycle drivers were held for illegal display of plates and 24 were for “no plate, no travel policy”.

De Ocampo said that traffic policemen have issued citation tickets or temporary operator permit to the drivers depending on their violation.
