Lobregat, NIA turn over P3M irrigation project in Talisayan PDF Print E-mail

Congressman Celso Lobregat was invited to the turn-over ceremony of a three million worth Communal Irigation System Project constructed by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) in Barangay Talisayan.

Also present in the turn-over ceremonies were Councilor Mike Alavar, NIA Officials like Engr. Maritess Soria- OIC Zambasulta RSO, Lenie Enriquez, IDS Head, Mr. Ludweig Look from the City Agriculturist Office and officers and members of the Talisayan Irrigators Association and Pamucutan CAMACOP Farmers Association headed by Mr. Santiago Bakunawa.

The said project involved the concrete canalization with a width of 40 centimeters with a depth of 50 centimeters and a length of over 900 meters.

The objective of the said project was for the farmer beneficiaries to increase their cropping production to three times a year. This will increase the harvest and productivity of the land and in turn increase the income of the farmers.

The project recently turned-over will benefit the fifty-six farmer beneficiaries of the who farmer’s association in Pamucutan-Talisayan area. The entire area of coverage is 100 hectares.

The farmer’s association also requested an additional 600meters of canalization. With this, Congressman Lobregat advised farmers to write NIA officially requesting for the additional project and furnish him a copy of the same so he could make the necessary representation to the said agency. - Dexter Yap
