A 13-year-old girl was released less than an hour after she was mistakenly abducted by kidnappers in Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay Thursday afternoon.

Report said the girl had just come out from school where she is studying when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle appeared and grabbed her.

It was learned that the girl was brought to a finger wharf called “landing” in the same island where a pumpboat with some cohorts were waiting.

However when other members of the group saw the girl, they were disappointed to see they got the wrong target.

Immediately the two suspects brought the girl to the place where they seized her.

The incident was reported to the police.

It was gathered that the kidnappers were targeting the girl’s neighbor and three other prominent personalities in the area. — Dan Toribio
