Councilor Gerky Valesco was the inducting officer and guest speaker of the induction and turn over rites of the Regional Science High School general parents-teachers association held Sunday afternoon.

Valesco cited the role of the GPTA in building an atmosphere of learning even in the confines of the home.
“The motivation of learning starts at home, therefore, there is a need for parents and the various stakeholders of the community to put premium on education,” Valesco said.

“The concept of the Brigada Eskwela is a model of cooperation so that our children will have the determination to learn and accomplish,” Valesco said.
Other than the PTA members, also present during the induction and who served as inducting officer to the Homeroom  PTA was Atty Al-Rahimin Kenoh of the Department of Education and RSHS Principal Melanie Minez.

Incoming GPTA President Dennis Usman said the parents and teachers unanimously chose Councilor Valesco as their guest speaker because he was a product of public education and has many accomplishments todate which in turn can inspire young people.

“Councilor Valesco is public servant with good working record. Above all he remains to be humble, down to earth and is really a good example to students,” Minez said.
Among those inducted into office were: President Daunday Dennis Usman, Vice President Engr. Ylmein Kasim, Secretary Jane Lou Victoriano,  Treasurer Abigail Luna, Auditor Hassan Alfad, PIO Atty Evangeline Doctolero, Business Manager Teresita Elizarde. Board of directors —  Alvin Santiago,  Barbara Lilia Manalo, Joanes Ocamia, Margarito Ebol, Teresita Cabato, Jovelito Reyes, Roger Canones, and Rosalio Conturno.
