President Rodrigo R. Duterte received a passing mark from some Zamboangueños after he delivered his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) Monday afternoon at Batasang Pambansa.

The public rated the president’s performance from one to 10 and reacted to his SONA.

Sheila Eustaquio, a government Employee, said that “Duterte is far more better than the other presidents.” She gave him 10 rating.

Niño Regie Natividad, a resident of Tetuan, said, “I am very satisfied, you can really feel his sincerity and his actions are direct. There is still so much to be done, but how he started as a president, that will eventually be a 10.”

A professor and nurse, Edwin Delos Reyes Abu said “I will give him a 9. He is performing well as a President and he does not blame the previous administrations instead is just doing his job.”

SPO2 Ethelyn Ramirez said that “so far for me personally, I’ll give him a 8. He is trying to change the system and we can see the effect of Duterte.”

Fr. Butch Candido of the Sta Maria Parish said, “I’m very satisfied of his service.. I give him an 8. He walks the talk. He really wanted our country to be in progress and be alleviated from its present status. In short, he wants change that is why we need to give him the chance to do what is best for our country.”

Commission on Elections regional director Wilfred Balisado said, “I’m satisfied and will give him an 8.  It was one good SONA but at times there are instances na yung adlib niya is no longer fitting for the occasion. He was specific in drugs and crimes and also family planning and I am sure he was able to connect to the masa.”

Department of Labor and Employment 9 Information Officer Gay Iris Tangcalagan said, “he has this “Duterte effect” that would make you follow him whether you like it or else!”

The 17th Congress opened before the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Davao del Norte Congressman Pantaleon Alvarez replaced Sonny Belmonte as the speaker of the House of Representatives while Senator Franklin Drilon was replaced by Aquilino Pimentel III as Senate President.

This is the first SONA of President Duterte after former President Benigno Aquino III turned over the presidency to Duterte last June 30, 2016. (R.G. A A. Go)
