Customs Commissioner Nicanor E. Faeldon has commended the Zamboanga City Customs District Office under the leadership of Collector Benhur Arabani for surpassing its target revenue collection.

Faeldon  motivated Arabani to maintain his revenue collection above the target.

The former Marines officer told newsmen that  Zamboanga City District Office  is his first  visit since he was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to lead the BoC. After his visitation to the Zamboanga Peninsula, he is set to visit different BoC district offices in the country.

“Inuna ko lang po ang Zamboanga City District Office kasi malayo eh,” Faeldon said in Tagalog.

During his visit at the Zamboanga City District Office he conducted an ocular inspection at the Philippine Ports Authority warehouse where tons of undocumented imported rice and sugar are stored by the District Office after confiscation.

Faeldon is also scheduled to conduct visit at the sub-port of Jolo, Sulu and Bongao in Tawi –Tawi.

Arabani for his part thanked the Commissioner for commending him on his good revenue collection.

“We will do our best to stop smuggling in the region as ordered by President Duterte. Kailangan magbayad sila ng tax sa government,”, Arabani stressed. —  Allen Abastillas
