Congressman Celso L. Lobregat together with DepEd ARD/OIC Schools Division Supt. Pete Natividad, DPWH-DEO,  turned over a (3) Storey, 15-classroom building to Ayala District Supervisor Dr. Laarni Villanueva, Ayala CS Principal Dr. Edsel Francisco, SPG Mayor Patrizia Cacpal,PTA and Teachers on July 29, 2016.

The P20.20 million school building is part of the DepEd school building program implemented by the DPWH.

With the turnover of the newly constructed school building, Ayala Central School has a total of 96 classrooms and has an enrollment for SY 2016-2017 of 5,065 students. The present student: classroom ratio is 52:1. This is still high considering that the ratio should 40:1.

“Can you imagine how high the student-classroom ratio would be if the City Government of Zamboanga under my administration before as City Mayor did not construct the multiple infrastructure projects for Ayala Central School,” Lobregat said.

Recall that under the Lobregat administration the following classrooms were constructed like; (3) Storey 27 Classroom Building – constructed in 2012,(2) Storey 8 Classroom Building – 2009,(2) Storey 8 Classroom Building – 2008, and (2) Storey 6 Classroom Building – 2007.

Lobregat said that in line with the high priority in education and providing a better teaching and learning atmosphere by way of having a normal/acceptable student:classroom ratio, there is an on-going construction of a (4) Storey 20 classroom building under the PAGCOR-DepEd-DPWH School Building Program. The construction is expected to be completed this year.
