The Highway Patrol Group-9 recovered recently a carnapped motorvehicle.

Operation Officers Sr.  Insp.  Mervin S. Claret disclosed that while their Special Operation Team led by SPO1 Joemar G. Lacastesantos and PO2 Idris M. Andong  were conducting an anti-carnapping operation along  Veterans Avenue, they spotted and flagged down a Toyota Vios for having no validating sticker for calendar year 2016.

Claret said the gray metallic Toyota Vios, model 2014 with plate number PAA 8350 has its registered owner from Greentown Villas I Mambog III, Bacoor, Cavite.

When the SOT checked it with the HPG Motor Vehicle Management Information System that linked all HPG units nationwide, it was found out that the car is included in the list of alarmed/ stolen status under alarm number 2016 – 0622 – 046.

It was reported by the owner Wena Gacayan that the car was stolen while parked.

HPG9 Regional Chief Sr. Supt. Joel R. Dimaano lauded the SOT  operatives for the recovery of the stolen motorvehicle. Dimaano directed  Claret to  coordinate with  the Crime Laboratory 9 for the conduct of macro-etching examination. — Allen Abastillas
