Man jailed after gunslay try on brother-in-law PDF Print E-mail

A 60-year-old man was jailed after he tried to shoot his brother-in-law in Sta. Catalina last Sunday night.

The suspect was identified as Carlito Armendez Cordero, married.

Police said that Cordero shot Ricardo Estrellado, but his gun jammed.

Investigation disclosed that  Cordero invited Estrellado to his house where they had a conversation around 6:30 p.m.

During their conversation, Estrellado told the police that Cordero accused him of stealing a mirror.

Amid of their argument, Cordero drew a handgun and aimed it at Estrellado follwoed by squeezing the trigger. But the gun jammed.

At this point, Estrellado grappled for possession of the gun. A certain Dinding, a neighbor, arrived and pacified them.

Estrellado managed to grab the gun and brought it to the police station

Police said that it was a .22 caliber magnum revolver that was disarmed from Cordero.

Cordero was also arrested and was taken to the police station. – Dan Toribio
