In appreciation of their years of dedicated service, the local government of Zamboanga yesterday, August 2, paid tribute to its retired employees in simple despedida ceremonies and breakfast salo-salo at City Hall.

Dubbed the “Despedida de Agradecimiento para los Retirados de Gobierno”, the special ceremonies gathered and honored 19 retirees who left government service from the period of January – June 2016 for a morning fellowship with City Mayor Beng Climaco, their respective department heads and supervisors, and colleagues.

This is the fifth batch of retirees who were honored and recognized by the City Government since the activity’s launch last 2014.

The ceremonies, organized by the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO), featured messages from Mayor Beng Climaco and the retirees, provision of tokens of gratitude, and a video presentation, followed by a breakfast salo-salo.

In her message, Climaco expressed her gratitude to the retirees for the years of service that they have rendered to the local government and the people of Zamboanga City.

“To all our retirados, this is really your home. The City Hall is your home,” Climaco told the retirees. “En calor deamon todo na govierno, kere kame rindi gracias con ustedes for your love, dedication, and devotion to us. We would like you to enjoy your new life,” she added. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
