The five-year period usability of the driver license as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte will be implemented this year, Land Transportation Office-9 Director Aminola Abaton announced Tuesday.

Abaton said the driver’s license topic was discussed during the Directors’ conference held last week presided by  Undersecretary Edgar Galvante, chief, Land  Land  Transportation Office.

Abaton said the pilot implementation will be on September.

He said the implementation is significant to Duterte’s 100 days in office.

Abaton explained that after the pilot implementation in the National Capital Region, it will be implemented in the region  in the last week of September or  October.

On the other hand, Abaton is set to schedule a “Regional Inter-Agency Law Enforcement Summit”  anytime. The summit will discuss how to solve the series of accidents in the region perpetrated by irresponsible drivers.

The man made accidents cause heavy damage to properties and loss of lives dueto  reckless driving.
