SBP-Passarelle cage tourney set in Zambo Aug. 6 PDF Print E-mail

The Small Basketeers Philippines-Passarelle  will open its Best- SBP Passarelle Twin  Basketball Tournament 2011 on August 6, 2011 at Agan Coliseum.
This sport event will be sponsored by MILO.

MILO-Best franchise holder Pedro Alfaro Jr. disclosed that the participating teams in the tournament are from the Ateneo De Zamboanga University, Western  Mindanao State University, Pilar College, Claret High School, Chong Hua Highschool, Bethany School, J-Jireh School, Zion School, City High Main School, Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School and Ferndale.

Guest of honor during the opening program is Nick Jorge, founder of the Best Center of Manila.
The tournament will be conducted in five consecutive Saturdays and Sundays or equivalent to 10 days. The champions for the high school team and elementary team  will represent Zamboanga City in the regional elimination to be held in Cagayan De Oro City. The winners in the regional elimination will compete in the  national championship on November 18, 2011 to be held for the first time in Zamboanga City.

Alfaro said the Small Basketeers of the Philippines-Passarelle  is now 22 years old in Zamboanga City.  Before the SBP-Passarelle  tournament,  a pre-clinic and screening was held last summer at the Ateneo De Zamboanga University. — Allen Abastillas
