The City of Zamboanga is all set to participate in two big Mindanao events slated for this quarter.

First to unfold is the Mindanao Trade Expo (MTE) 2016 from Aug. 12-21 at the Abreeza Mall in Davao City.

The trade event is expectedly to showcase the local skills and talents, products and potentials of Zamboanga, including the abundant raw and finished materials.

It is organized by the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. which aims to develop MSMEs’ capabilities by providing training workshops and hands on training to encourage enterprise growth.

Meanwhile, the city government through the City Investment Promotion Services is also gearing up for the 25th Mindanao Business conference (MinBizCon), an annual event of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The activity will gather the multi-sectoral representatives of Mindanao in a forum of discussion on economic issues, growth opportunities, and policy actions.

Aimed at advancing the socio-economic development agenda of Mindanao, the event marks its silver anniversary with this year’s theme, “Mindanao: ASEAN’s Emerging Economic Hub.”

It will be a fulfillment of the collective aspiration to make use of the region’s strategic location and untapped potentials towards its rightful development direction.

The City Investment Promotion Services will be in charge of the delegates for both events.

A total of 10 products from the city will highlight Zamboanga’s booths, featuring Sotto’s Delicacies of Lumiyap, EJT Processed Products of Boalan, Crumbs and Buns of Guiwan,  Adobong Mani from Culianan, Loko-lokot of Taluksangay, Alavar Products of Tetuan, Banana Chips from Tetuan, Kingland Hopia of Mampang, Fashion Accessories from Tumaga and Yakan  Cloths and accessories from Yakan Village.
