Drug suspect shot to death, cohort escapes in Lamitan PDF Print E-mail

Men of the Lamitan City Police Office along with troopers of the Regional Public Safety Company of PRO- ARMM shot and killed a suspected drug pusher during a buy-bust operation at 2 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Parangbasak.

Sr. Insp. Jason Ray Gomera identified the slain suspect as Sirpan Basang Alham, a resident of Barangay Bohe Bessey. His companion Janaten  O. Jimlani  managed to escape.

Gomera  said that two Lamitan undercover policemen bought shabu from Alham, who after sensing it was a police operation, grabbed an M16 rifle and opened open fire on the lawmen. The  two undercover policemen, PO2 Rommel Sabiran and PO1 Jainal Arpa, were hit in their left hands.

A firefight lasted for 30 minutes during which Alham  was killed.

Alham and Jimlani were listed as drug pushers in the city. Recovered from Alham were a caliber 45  pistol. P200 marked money, one sealed sachet containing shabu and drugs paraphernalia. Jimlani who able to escape with an M16 rifle.
