The Lamitan City Council has issued acertification for the implementation and expansion of the Lamitan City Water District.

The certification was issued  in connection with and in preparation for the implementation (By Administration ) of water supply system improvement and expansion project and contruction of administration building and main  pipelines interchange.

Vice Mayor Roderick H. Furigay disclosed that the certification also includes the barangays of Bolobo and Bulingan that are considered within the area with critical peace and order problem due to its proximity to the municipality of Tipo-Tipo wherea military operation is ongoing against the Abu Sayyaf.

Lamitan City Water District Manager Aurelion P. Quir Jr. told the council during a dialogue recently that the construction of new pipelines at Barangay Arco will reach barangay Sengal.

Engr. Ronald Maluto told the council that there is a need to interchange the main old pipelines to the new pipelines so that the old main pipeline will not be destroyed because of strong water pressures.

“The project expansion does not need to remove the old main pipeline but only to  interchange  because the old main pipeline is only six inches in diameter. It will interchange to eight inches diameter pipeline from six inches main old pipeline,” Maluto said. — Allen Abastillas
