Some 31 job applicants are bound to work in different fast food chains in different countries in Middle East after they passed the hiring scheme Last Sunday organized by the LEAD Resources Management Corporation (LEAD) thru the City’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

According to City Social Welfare and Development Officer Francisco Barredo, the Kuwait-Americana Foods Corporation-a group of companies that supplies manpower to popular fast food chains in the Middle East like Kentucky Fried Chicken, Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF), Crispy Crème, among others tapped LEAD to conduct the hiring procedure with the facilitation of PESO.

Barredo pointed out that a top official of the corporation personally came to the City to oversee the process of selection. He also said that Zamboanga was favorably chosen by the said official due to the impressive work ethics exhibited by Zamboangueño workers belonging to the prior batch of qualifiers.

Of the 31 pre-evaluation qualifiers, 12 will be assigned to Kuwait, 13 to Bahrain, 3 to United Arab Emirates while 3 to Oman. They will be work as service crews, cashiers and receptionists of the mentioned food stores with free accommodation, transportation and with food allowances.

“This is just one of the many doors of opportunities that the City Government is assisting our constituents to find employment. For sure we will continue to facilitate
more job-providing activities in the future,” Barredo assured.

As PESO Manager, Barredo is also informing the public that the office is in the process of pooling potential applicants to work in Saudi Arabia. He said those who have a ready pass port at hand will have the advantage should an evaluation will commence any time soon. — Richard Aliangan/City Hall PIO
