A 40-year-old man was shot and wounded by a policeman after he went berserk and stabbed a member of the Civilian Volunteer Organization (CVO) at dawn Wednesday along the highway in Putik.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, City Police Office Information Officer,  disclosed that Roberto Macaso y Enriquez, a native of Bunguiao, was armed with a knife when became unruly and attacked anybody crossing his path.

Reynaldo Verba y Dinig, 49, a CVO member of Putik tried to pacify him but was stabbed. PO2 Roel Valeriano rushed to the scene and upon noticing that Macaso was uncontrollable and to avoid more victims, he shot him on the right leg.

Macaso fell on the ground after he was hit by a bullet. He was disarmed and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Macaso also sustained injuries in the different parts of the body after he was mauled by angry folks.
