A man armed with a grenade intended for policemen who are responsible for the arrest of suspected drug pushers, was arrested before midnight Tuesday .

Faisal Abdulla y Asad, 27, married, of Recodo, was nabbed by policemen led by Insp. Haran Ulah under the supervision of Chief Insp. Karib Muharram.

A police report disclosed that Ulah and his men were on foot patrol at the interior of Puppin Drive, Purok 6, Recodo around 11 p.m. when they spotted Abdulla in possession of an M33 fragmentation grenade with secondary safety clip.

Police said that Abdulla was seen acting suspiciously. When frisked, police recovered the grenade from his possession.

Based on intelligence reports, a group of drug pushers in Recodo hired some individuals from outside the city and tasked them to kill policemen wit grenades.

The suspect was detained at the Ayala Police Station pending the filing of case for violation of illegal possession of explosive. – Dan Toribio
