A security guard was brutally killed by an unidentified man who robbed his Honda XRM motorcycle while at his post in a hardware store in Guiwan at dawn Monday.

Julio Morales y Mercader, 51, of 3-Aces Security Agency, married, and resident of Putik sustained a stab wound to the throat and four to the chest.

Initial investigation showed that Morales’ XRM motorcycle was missing after the incident.

Police said that Morales was on night shift duty outside the hardware store when an unidentified man appeared and talked to him. The man suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed Morales in the throat.

When he fell on the ground, the assailant continued stabbing him in the chest then he sped aboard the guard’s motorcycle.

Police recovered a knife with blood stains and a scabbard near Morales’ body.

Police have reviewed the CCTV camera of the building that may lead them to the identity and whereabouts of the killer. – Dan Toribio
