In recognition of the efforts of law enforcement agencies, Mayor Beng Climaco on Tuesday presented cash rewards to performing members of the police including Task Force Zamboanga and the Military Intelligence Group (MIG)-9 personnel specifically in the campaign against criminality and illegal drugs.

The reward, amounting to a total of P300,000 covered the performance of the different police stations for the period January to June 2016.

Mayor Climaco said the incentives form part of the City Government’s firm support to the security sector and intended to further boost law enforcers’ morale and ultimately perform better.

She said her administration will unceasingly support the security sector for the general welfare of the residents of the city. “Peace and security remains to be our number one priority.”

The presentation of the reward held Tuesday prior to the opening of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC-9) meeting at a local hotel, was part of a series of release of incentives based on the output or performance of the law enforcers.

The recipients of the rewards included police stations 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, MIG-9 and the Task Force Zamboanga. The incentive is turned over to the concerned police stations and will be used for the purchase of equipment or gadgets to boost their operations.

Present during the turnover of the reward were Police Regional Director PCSupt. Billy Beltran, Department of Interior and Local Government Assistant Regional Director Pedro Cuevas Jr., City DILG Chief Mohammad Taha Arakama and other officials. — Sheila Covarrubias
