Fire damages ukay-ukay stall in Sta. Cruz PDF Print E-mail

A fire of undetermined origin partially damaged a stall at the Sta. Cruz market building 3 designated for the sale of used clothing and other stuff also known as ukay-ukay.

Per report from City Fire Marshall FCSupt. Clint Cha, the fire engulfed the stall occupied by Hadja Rasa Isa at around 3:50pm Thursday, August 25 and was declared fire out at 4:10.    The fire reached second alarm.

Damage to property was minimal and no one was hurt during the incident.

Personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management were dispatched immediately to respond and to support the City Fire Department.

As this developed, Mayor Beng Climaco has called on occupants at the Sta. Cruz market including at the Bagsakan Center and the main public market to be always cautious and conscious of fire prevention measures to prevent the loss of lives and properties. — Sheila Covarrubias
