The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) regional office 9 has urged Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) to join agrarian reform cooperative so that they can benefit more.

“To those ARBs who are not yet member, we are encouraging you to be a member of the agrarian reform cooperatives in your area to avail of the services of the government,” Engr. Felix Aguhob, DAR 9 regional director, said in an interview.

He explained that the government has limited resources that is why facilities and trainings are being given to the agrarian reform cooperatives rather than individual agrarian reform beneficiaries.

According to Aguhob, others are not joining the cooperative because some are on a wait and see mode. If these cooperatives are assisted by the government that’s the time they join.

Region 9 has a total of 115,035 agrarian reform beneficiaries but only 44,976 have membership in agrarian reform cooperatives.

The regional director assured that DAR as the lead agency will bring service to enhance development in the agrarian reform communities.

“Make your land productive for the future of your family, the community, and the country,” Aguhob said. — R.G. A A. Go
