The new Zamboanga City Police Office located at the back of City Hall will be unveiled and turned over by September 28 with Philippine National Police Commander PCSupt. Ronaldo de la Rosa as guest of honor.

Mayor Beng Climaco made the announcement during the turnover of command at Police Station 11 the other day, as she said that the City is also purchasing new vehicles and other facilities as support the police in the coming months.

Costing some P29 million, the new police headquarters is a project of the City Government. It is one of the monumental testaments to the city’s firm support to the security sector.

Mayor Climaco has formally invited Gen. De la Rosa to keynote the event as well as to grace and anti-drug advocacy for Zamboangueno youths on the same day.

Once relocated to the new police office building, the present ZCPO headquarters will be occupied by PS11, the biggest police station with jurisdiction over the entire city proper area.

During the PS11 change of command, Mayor Climaco said the city government is also set to purchase modern transportation facilities to improve mobility of the police.

She vowed to remain firm in her support to the police and other law enforcement agencies including the military in a bid to ensure the security and protection of the city and its residents.
